The Dorchester Collection is opening its first hotel in the Middle East, and tenth property worldwide.
The Lana will open in the last quarter of 2022 in the Burj Khalifa District of Dubai, located in a 30-storey tower designed by Foster and Partners.
The hotel’s name is drawn from the Arabic expression “for us” and the Hawaiian “floating gently in calm water”, and pays homage to its location beside the Dubai Creek and Marasi Marina.
The hotel will feature 156 rooms and 69 suites (21 of which are the signature suites), and contemporary interior design by Parisian duo Gilles and Boissier. Rooms will include floor-to-ceiling windows, stone parquet flooring, triple-height ceilings, screen dividers and deep-soaking bathtubs – some of which are positioned at the windows to maximise city views.
Meanwhile living spaces will include dark marble, rounded furniture, and hues of gold, beige and olive.
The second floor will feature the reception, concierge, an indoor-outdoor social lobby space, a pastry counter, and a secluded garden lounge.
The fourth floor will house a modern Mediterranean restaurant and an Italian café – both of which will have indoors and outdoors seating space – while the hotel’s signature restaurant and lounge is located on the 18th floor.
A spa, wellness centre and state-of-the-art gym will be located on the 29th floor, while the 30th floor will be home to a rooftop pool and cabana service which transforms into a lounge and nightlife destination in the evening.
It is a 15-minute walk from Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall, a 20-minute drive from Dubai International airport, and a 75-minute trip to Abu Dhabi International airport.
The hotel will be opened in partnership with real estate development group Omniyat.
