Glasgow has welcomed its second Courtyard by Marriott property, with an opening located adjacent to the city’s OVO Hydro venue.

Glasgow Courtyard SEC sits on the banks of the River Clyde and features 216 rooms, five event spaces which can hold up to 100 delegates, and a 24-hour fitness centre.

The hotel has a covered walkway to the SEC, ideal for guests attending events at the venue. It recently welcomed guests from over 200 countries for the UN 2021 Climate Change Summit.

The property was built using a sustainable and energy efficient construction process, and also has mobile keys and a no plastic policy in place at the bar – it instead uses glass and 100 per cent compostable paper cups.

Additionally, the on-site Hopscotch restaurant serves Scottish cuisine and seasonal cocktails by mixologist Frazer Graham.

Donovan Sumner, Regional Director of Operations UK for Hotel Co. 51, the operating company for Glasgow Courtyard SEC commented:

“This is our 14th hotel opening in the UK and first Courtyard Marriott. We’re excited to be working with the team at the SEC as events and conferences get back on track.  Thanks to the location of the hotel, we were full for the Climate Change Summit and will continue to build on that as one of the key hotels in the city for travellers and delegates attending events in the area.”
