Etihad Airways has opened a new early check-in service to accommodate the peak travel season.
Available from now until December 31, the dedicated facility at Abu Dhabi International Airport, allows passengers to check in from between eight and 24 hours before their flight.
It enables one person to check in and drop off baggage on behalf of family members travelling together, but they must present the travel and COVID-19 related documents for the entire group. The early check-in desk is open from 9am to 4am, seven days a week, and is located at Skypark Plaza on level three at the airport. Guests using this facility will receive two hours of free parking at Skypark while checking in.
Alternatively, guests can also check in from the comfort of home using Etihad’s Home Check-In service. Passengers can check-in bags, select a seat and collect their boarding pass and bag tags before leaving the house. When it’s time to fly, they can skip the queues and make their way to the airport hassle-free. Fees start from AED 220 and travellers can use promotional code EYWINTER10 to save 10 per cent on all home check-in packages January 15, 2022.
Abu Dhabi airport is anticipating a high volume of passengers in December due to multiple factors – a surge in inbound passengers visiting family and friends, Expo 2020 Dubai and UAE Golden Jubilee celebrations. At the same time, as school holidays start mid-December, followed by the festive season for many, residents are travelling overseas.
