IHG Hotels and Resorts has signed its third Kimpton hotel in Thailand following the brand’s debut in the country in 2020.

The hotel group has partnered with Nusasiri Public Company Limited to open Kimpton Khao Yai in 2024, which will offer 70 rooms and 30 pool villas with mountain views.

The hotel will be situated north of Khao Yai National Park and within Pak Chong, and will be part of the Nusa My Ozone Project – a 600-acre resort which will include an 18-hole golf course, retail and recreational facilities, an organic farm, hotels and residences, and a private airport.

The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Khao Yai is a two-hour drive from Bangkok, making it a popular luxury resort destination for city dwellers.

Kimpton Khao Yai will also include a lobby bar with a daily social hour, a 50 sqm meeting space, swimming pool, fitness centre and spa.

Kimpton currently operates a property in Bangkok which opened in late 2020, which will be followed by a hotel on the Thai island of Koh Samui. IHG Hotels and Resorts operates 29 hotels across eight brands in Thailand, with another 34 in the pipeline. The company aims to double the size of the group’s estate in the country within the next five years and to grow its luxury and lifestyle portfolio by 50 per cent.

Serena Lim, Vice President, Development, South East Asia and Korea, IHG, said:

“Kimpton continues to strengthen its positioning in Thailand with Kimpton Khao Yai. We have seen a lot of interest for the brand since we opened Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok in the middle of the pandemic to much fanfare, becoming a much-loved and popular destination for Bangkok residents and their pets. The signing of Kimpton Koh Samui swiftly followed and now the third Kimpton has been signed in Thailand. This is such a fantastic testament to the strength of the brand in both city and resort locations and is very much part of our plan to grow our luxury and lifestyle portfolio in Thailand by 50% in the next few years.”
