Priority Pass has signed a new deal with Malaysia’s Sama-Sama Hotels to add eight “luxury lounges and lounge experiences” at Kuala Lumpur International airport to the group’s portfolio.

The mixture of landside and airside facilities are located in both Terminals 1 and 2 at the airport. The Airport Lounge KLIA (next to Gate C5 in Terminal 1) is already available for Priority Pass members, with the remaining locations set to join the network in the coming weeks.

It’s not yet clear what the difference will be between the “lounges and lounge experiences”, nor where the other seven spaces will be located – Todd Handcock, president Asia Pacific for Priority Pass’ owner Collinson, said that some of the facilities “were previously formal VIP lounges designated for Commercially Important People (CIP), meaning they’re of exceptionally high quality”.

Earlier this month Priority Pass outlined plans to double the number of lounge locations offering its Ready 2 Order food and beverage service.

At the time the group also said that it was “looking to extend the services it is offering members beyond lounge access”, adding that it was “looking at how its members travel to and from the airport, to truly elevate the travel experience by creating the most seamless of journeys for them – right from when they leave their house through to when they arrive at their destination”.

Earlier this year Priority Pass announced plans to add over 150 new airport lounges to its programme by the end of 2021, as well as 100 new “premium dining and relaxation experiences and railway and sea port lounges”.

Commenting on the agreement Sundralingam Kulendra, general manager of Sama-Sama Hotels Group, said:

“As a five-star award-winning hotel hospitality services company, the Sama-Sama brand embodies the very best of modern, contemporary Malaysia.

“Through this partnership, Priority Pass Members can experience a joyful, personalised, and warm service that is part of the memorable Malaysian hospitality on their journey through KLIA.”
