IHG Hotels and Resorts is continuing to expand its Avid brand across the US, marking its 45th hotel opening in Macon, Georgia.
Avid Hotel Macon North is owned by Sainath Hospitality LLC and is located about an hour from Atlanta. It has convenient access to Mercer University and Wesleyan College, and is close to historic attractions such as the Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park.
The brand opened three further Avid properties last month – Avid Hotel Millsboro – Georgetown South, the brand’s first hotel in Delaware; Avid Hotel Byron – Warner Robins, located between Macon, Warner Robbins and Perry, Georgia; and Avid Hotel Memphis – Southaven, situated close to downtown Memphis’ medical district.
Earlier in the year saw the openings of Avid Hotel Salem in Virginia, Avid Hotel Fayetteville West in Arkansas, and Avid Hotel Lexington – Hamburg Area in Kentucky.
All Avid hotels are new-build properties and feature 55-inch smart TVs, access to streaming services, and a complimentary grab-and-go breakfast.
The Avid brand was unveiled in September 2017, and has been designed to operate under a franchise model, comprising new-build properties offering a minimum of three floors.
Karen Gilbride, VP of Avid hotels and Atwell Suites, commented:
