Flydubai publishes sneak peek of new business class seat

2 Nov 2021 by Mark Caswell

Flydubai has posted images of its new B737 Max business class seat on social media.

The carrier took to Facebook and LinkedIn to post two images of the seat, along with the words:

“Here is a sneak peek of something new on our Boeing 737 aircraft. The next time you flydubai in Business Class you might be one of the first few to see it. If you do, share a picture with us here! :)”

A subsequent reply on the LinkedIn post confirms that the new seat is currently available on one of the carrier’s newly delivered B737 Max 8 aircraft.

No other details of the seat product were posted, but from the images it would seem to be configured in a slightly staggered layout.

It also seems that the seat has been designed by Hong Kong-headquartered HAECO Group, as Sinan Kazzaz, director of programme management (R&D) at Haeco Americas also posted on the LinkedIn thread, stating:

“Beautiful product! I salute the HAECO Americas team for an amazing work, and I was proud to be part of it.”

It’s not clear if the seat will only be fitted to new aircraft, or if there are plans to retrofit any existing aircraft.

Flydubai’s fleet currently consists of 34 B737-800s, and 20 B737 Max 8 and 9 aircraft.

The airline also has orders for almost 170 B737 Max aircraft, across the -8, -9 and -10 variants.

Flydubai last launched a new business class seat on its B737 Max 8 aircraft in 2017, with ten fully-flat seats across three rows, including two coveted “throne” seats in the middle row.
