By now readers will have seen our previous reports on Jet 2 and its holiday routes. Now I bring you news of interest to our corporate readership.

Leeds-based Jet 2 will restart its Amsterdam flights in November. Initially there will be flights out of both Birmingham (from November 5)  and Leeds (from November 4). Flights have already been posted on the carrier’s website.

Schedules from Leeds call for four flights a week (every Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday). Weekend times may vary.

Schedules from Birmingham call for two flights a week (every Monday and Friday).

When I checked the carrier’s website I saw flights on each route departing at 1615 to arrive into Amsterdam at 1830. In the return direction they depart Amsterdam at 1915 to reach the UK at 1930. Fares start from £29 one-way.

Obviously KLM is the main player on both routes. KLM’s flights feed into the KLM global hub at Schiphol. Jet 2 and KLM do not interline.

Jet 2’s flights are aimed at the point-to-point user, and although the Leeds-based carrier cannot match KLM’s frequency, they will suit the canny traveller (the person who can arrange a trip around the limited schedule) or those of you who need a keen one-way fare.
