British Airways has unveiled a new gin bar at its recently reopened lounge at New York JFK’s Terminal 7.
The Aviation Gin bar is located on the lounge’s outdoor terrace, with bartenders serving Aviation American Gin alongside Betty Buzz non alcoholic mixers.
The Portland-based gin is described as being “infused with a democratic blend of botanicals – cardamom, coriander, French lavender, anise seed, sarsaparilla, juniper, and two kinds of orange peel to create a smoother, softer, more refined take on gin”.
Meanwhile Betty Buzz is a new range of mixers made using real fruit juice, with options including Tonic Water, Sparking Grapefruit, Meyer Lemon Club Soda, Sparkling Lemon Lime, and Ginger Beer.
BA reopened its JFK Galleries Club lounge in August following a 16-month closure due to Covid-19.
This was followed with the reopening of its premium Concorde Room at the airport last month.
Commenting on the news Mark Murphy, British Airways’ lounge operations manager, said:
“It’s an honour to welcome more of our customers back to our JFK lounge. The Aviation Gin bar is the latest feature to our lounge, serving up some gin classics – we couldn’t think of a better mixer than the newly launched Betty Buzz. This is a truly unique opportunity, we anticipate it will be a popular addition of our lounge.”
