IHG Hotels and Resorts is to open the first Voco property in Seoul, and the second signing for the brand in South Korea.

The 151-room Voco Gangnam will be located close to the city’s Sinsa subway station, and is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2022.

Features will include an 85-seat cafe and bar, as well as a fitness centre and three meeting rooms totalling 600 sqm.

The Voco brand launched in 2018, and has around 20 properties open worldwide so far, with seven of these in the UK in locations including Oxford, Reading, Cardiff and Solihull.

There are now over 50 Voco hotels either open or under development – this summer the group announced plans for Voco Pyeongtaek City, a 280-room property located in South Korea’s Gyeonggi-do province.
