Emirates has partnered with HBO Max to bring content including Friends: The Reunion to the carrier’s ICE inflight entertainment system.

The Warner Media streaming service is due to launch in Europe on October 26, and will be added to Emirates’ onboard options from the start of November.

Customers in all classes will be able to choose from programmes including Mare of Easttown starring Kate Winslet, and the award-winning A Black Lady Sketch Show. It will also be the first time the recent Friends reunion special has been available on an airline.

There will initially be 160 hours of content from 31 shows housed within a dedicated folder on the ICE system, with plans to “gradually expand the content on offer”.

In 2019 Emirates added a playlist option to its app, allowing passengers to browse and save IFE choices ahead of their flight, and then sync the playlist with the ICE system inflight.
