Marriott International has opened a new St Regis property in Downtown Dubai.
The St Regis Downtown, Dubai is located along the Dubai Water Canal, minutes from the world’s largest shopping centre, The Dubai Mall, and a short drive to both the city’s design hub (Dubai Design District) and the International Finance Centre.
The contemporary design includes rich fabrics and gold accents, and draws inspiration from the jewellery found in Dubai’s Gold Souk for the two striking chandeliers and gold chains in the lobby. The lobby also has lounge areas with a grand fireplace and artwork inspired by Dubai’s skyline silhouette reflecting onto the Dubai Water Canal. Corridors and gathering spaces also display a curated collection of contemporary art.
Its 289 rooms and suites feature floor-to-ceiling windows which overlook local landmarks such as the canal and the Burj Khalifa, large open bathrooms, walk-in wardrobes and coral-inspired wall sculptures. Each room also includes the brand’s butler service, which provides round-the-clock service.
F&B spaces include The Library for afternoon tea; Basta! for Italian cuisine with a modern twist; Bleu Blanc Oysters and Grill for French fine dining; the poolside bar for light meals; and the St Regis Bar which serves a modern take on the Bloody Mary cocktail first created at its New York outpost in 1934.
The bar also features a mirrored mural embellished by starry lights across the ceiling, which aims to depict the stars seen from the Arabian Desert at night. In line with the brand’s tradition, the hotel will carry out a champagne sobering at 7pm to mark the transition from day to night.
The hotel also features a spa with six treatment rooms, a steam room, sauna, fitness centre, and outdoor infinity pool. Events facilities include seven flexible meeting rooms, while a 564 sqm ballroom will debut in March 2022.

Marriott currently operates close to 50 luxury hotels and resorts under the St Regis brand.
