Gatwick has opened two new food and beverage outlets at its North Terminal, in partnership with SSP UK and Ireland.

Fast-casual Mexican restaurant brand Tortilla – which has 51 outlets across the UK – has opened its first airport location, with dishes including burritos, tacos, quesadillas and salads.

Meanwhile Juniper and Co is a premium restaurant and bar concept which has been created especially for Gatwick, featuring a centrepiece marbled finished bar and offering locally inspired dishes.

Both units opened their doors this week, with Gatwick stating that “most” of its stores and “many restaurants” have now reopened in line with government guidelines. All flights are currently operating to and from the airport’s North Terminal.

Commenting on the news Rachel Bulford, director of retail at Gatwick Airport, said:

“We are delighted to welcome both Tortilla and Juniper and Co to Gatwick. It’s exciting to not only have two new F&B offerings for our passengers to enjoy, but for them to be unique to Gatwick really demonstrates the pull of the airport.

“With more passengers now starting to return to the airport to enjoy holidays abroad, visit family and friends, or travel for business, it’s exciting to see our departure lounge starting to get that exciting buzz back again, and the additions of Tortilla and Juniper and Co will only add to that atmosphere.”
