Easyjet has announced a new route from Manchester airport to the coastal city of Aqaba in Jordan this winter.

The route to King Hussein Aqaba airport will launch on December 6, with flights operating twice-weekly on Mondays and Fridays.

Easyjet says that visitors to Aqaba will be able to access the landscapes of Wadi Rum and architectural sites of Petra.

Flights are currently on sale with fares from £95.99. Customers booking flights with the airline will benefit from the airline’s enhanced Protection Promise.

This means that customers will be able to change their flights this summer without fee, up to two hours before departure, regardless of the destination. Flights can be changed to any services currently on sale up to the end of September 2022.

Ali Gayward, Easyjet’s UK Country Manager, said:

“We are delighted to announce today that we are adding even more exciting destinations to our Manchester network, with new flights to Aqaba in Jordan. We know our customers can’t wait to go on a long-awaited and well-deserved holiday, so this new route will prove popular for customers wishing to get away for some winter sun and further strengthens our Manchester international network, providing customers with great value fares and ever more choice this winter.”

Karen Smart, Managing Director at Manchester Airport, added:

“The announcement of this new route is fantastic news for passengers who are seeking some sunshine this winter, and we are delighted to see easyJet expanding its Manchester network and offering even more choice to travellers.

“As Covid-19 restrictions continue to ease, we hope to see an increase in the variety and frequency of routes available this winter, ensuring that for those seeking a much-needed break, there is something to suit all tastes and budgets.”
