IHG Hotels and Resorts has opened its eighth Staybridge Suites property in the UK, and its first in the Welsh capital.

Staybridge Suites Cardiff is situated on the East Dock in the city’s Atlantic Wharf district, around a mile from Cardiff Central rail station.

The property is located next to IHG’s existing Holiday Inn Express Cardiff Bay, and features 73 one-bedroom suites, with facilities including a fitness centre, onsite shop The Pantry, a coffee bar, and The Den meeting space accommodating up to ten people.

Customers also benefit from free wifi, and onsite laundry facilities, and the hotel’s ‘Social Hours’ – three evenings a week where they can enjoy free drinks and snacks with other guests.

Liverpool was the first UK location for the Staybridge Suites brand back in 2008, and IHG has since added the extended stay brand in cities including London (Heathrow and Vauxhall), Birmingham, Dundee and Newcastle.

The group had also opened a Staybridge property in Manchester in 2018, but this was reflagged under the Hyatt House brand in 2020.
