Wyndham Hotels and Resorts has announced plans for the first property under its new Registry Collection Hotels brand in Georgia.

The new-build Art Tbilisi will be located in the city’s Abanotubani district, and is scheduled to open in early 2023.

The 100-room hillside hotel will offer views of the old city, with facilities including “an elegant restaurant serving local delicacies”, a rooftop wine bar with garden overlooking the sulphuric baths and Mtkvari river, a fitness centre, and a wellness area with thermal bathhouse and sauna.

Wyndham launched the Registry Collection earlier this summer, stating that the brand “comes at a time when a growing number of independent luxury hotel owners are seeking out proven and established partners to help them recover from the challenges of the global pandemic”.

The first property to join the collection was the all-suite Grand Residences Riviera Cancun in Mexico, with hotels also signed in Puerto Rico and St Kitts and Nevis.

Art Tbilisi will join existing Wyndham properties in Georgia including Wyndham Grand Tbilisi (which we reviewed in 2019), Wyndham Batumi, Ramada By Wyndham Tbilisi Old City and Ramada Encore Tbilisi, with a further 11 hotels in the development pipeline across the country.

Commenting on the news Dimitris Manikis, president for EMEA at Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, said:

“Our newest brand is the perfect option for independent luxury hotel owners who want to maintain their independent spirit while tapping into the global scale, capability and loyalty of Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, which is even more relevant as the industry recovers from the challenges of the global pandemic.

“We are incredibly proud to introduce our Registry Collection Hotels brand and this spectacular property to Georgia, a stunning destination that has become hugely popular thanks to its charming architecture, rich culture, delectable cuisine, and many historic sites.”
