The Indian government has introduced a new facility to book Covid-19 vaccine slots via Whatsapp.
The vaccination slots can be booked through MyGovIndia Corona Helpdesk on Whatsapp. The chatbot ‘My Gov Corona Helpdesk’ was introduced in March last year to provide accurate and verified Covid-19 information to the citizens.
Elaborating on the development, Mansukh Mandaviya, minister of Health and Family Welfare said in a tweet, “Paving a new era of citizen convenience. Now, book Covid-19 vaccine slots easily on your phone within minutes.”
How to book the slot?
- Add +91 9013151515 as a contact
- Send ‘Book Slot’ to this number on Whatsapp
- Enter the six-digit OTP you receive via SMS
- Choose your preferred date, location, pin code, and vaccine type
- Get confirmation
Will Cathcart, Head of Whatsapp at Facebook tweeted:
Cathcart added, “If you’ve already been vaccinated, you can also download your vaccine certificate on the same helpline. Over 3m people have done so this month.”
Earlier this month, the Indian government had also introduced the facility of getting vaccination certificates via Whatsapp.
“Revolutionising common man’s life using technology! Now get Covid-19 vaccination certificate through MyGov Corona Helpdesk in three easy steps —Save contact number: +91 9013151515, type and send ‘covid certificate’ on Whatsapp and enter OTP,” the Health Minister’s office had tweeted.
