Hyatt has opened the first property under its lifestyle brand Thompson Hotels brand in the US state of Georgia.
The 193-room Thompson Savannah is situated between the city’s Historic District and Eastern Wharf, and features a guestroom tower set perpendicular to the Savannah River, allowing all rooms to have either west-facing views of the cityscape, or east-facing views of the river, the coastal islands and the Atlantic Ocean.
Facilities include a seasonally focused signature restaurant, a Mediterranean-influenced rooftop bar, a splash pool, fitness centre, and 10,000 square foot of events space.
Thompson Hotels joined Hyatt in 2019, following the group’s purchase of lifestyle hotel management company Two Roads Hospitality. The lifestyle brand also joined the World of Hyatt loyalty programme in March 2019.
In January 2020 Hyatt opened the first Thompson property in Washington DC, and last summer the brand announced plans to add six properties in the southern US.
