Priority Pass has announced a new strategic partnership with China Southern Airlines, giving members access to over 40 new lounges across China.
The lounge provider said that the agreement gives members access “to the full network of over 40 lounges managed and operated by China Southern across China”, including first and business class lounges “that were previously only accessible by the airline’s first class and business class passengers, and China Southern Platinum Card members”.
Earlier this year Priority Pass announced plans to add over 150 airport lounges in 2021.
The group’s contract with Plaza Premium ended in July, but since then Priority Pass has acquired the No1 Lounges brand, adding nine UK lounges to its portfolio – the lounges had previously been part of the Priority Pass network, but were removed last October.
A spokesperson for China Southern said that “we look forward to elevating members’ travel experience by welcoming them to our premium lounges – in which they can relax away from the crowds in an environment tailored to modern travellers’ needs and high expectations”.
Meanwhile Todd Handcock, President, Asia Pacific for Priority Pass owner Collinson, said:
“Priority Pass is committed to delivering the best traveller experiences possible to our members globally, with us continuously striving to simultaneously improve both our lounge network reach and the quality of the lounges in our programme. This is, and will always be, the differentiating factor of Priority Pass.
“To further achieve this, we’re delighted to announce our new partnership with China Southern Airlines; which results in Priority Pass members gaining access to some of the best quality airline lounges in China, located in cities such as Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing.”
Business Traveller has requested a full list of the new lounge locations, and will post more information here when received. Priority Pass has confirmed that where there are both business and first class lounges in the same airport, members will be able to choose which one they access.
