IHG Hotels and Resorts has signed an agreement with real-estate specialists Mountain View to open four new properties under its Hotel Indigo brand in Egypt.

According to the group, the new-build hotels will “draw on the history, rhythm and pulse of each of the four distinct neighbourhoods”.

The 100-room Hotel Indigo Mountain View North Coast will open in July 2024 and offer views of the Mediterranean Sea. Facilities will include a spa, health club, pool, high-end retail and dining areas, and 165 sqm of meetings and events space.

This will be followed in January 2026 by the 200-key Hotel Indigo Mountain View icity New Cairo which is situated close to the American University and aims to cater to a business clientele.

The 200-room Hotel Indigo Mountain View icity 6th of October City will open in January 2028 in the Giza Governorate, 32 km outside the city of Cairo, and will offer locally inspired experiences through its F&B, retail and entertainment options.

Finally, the 150-room Hotel Indigo Mountain View Ain El Sokhna will open in January 2028 amidst mountains and beaches. It will include meetings and events spaces, and F&B options.

IHG launched the Hotel Indigo brand in 2004, and it currently has over 120 hotels in more than 20 countries, with over 100 hotels in the pipeline. The Hotel Indigo Dubai Downtown was the first of the brand in the region last year, and the pipeline includes properties in Sauadi Arabia, Qatar and Oman.

Plans were recently unveiled to turn Blackpool’s former Post Office and Sorting Office into a Hotel Indigo property.
