Hamad International to open 21 shopping and dining outlets this year

Qatar Duty Free (QDF) has announced plans to open 21 new shopping and dining outlets at Doha’s Hamad International airport this year.

QDF is celebrating its 21st anniversary with the “21 in 21” project which will see new outlets added in both the departure and arrival areas

A new shopping Avenue called Vialle di Lusso will feature the first airport boutique in the Middle East for fashion designer Valentino, as well as standalone outlets for brands including Emilio Pucci, Fendi and Jimmy Choo.

There will also be an Emporio Armani Ristorante and Caffè, a Christian Louboutin boutique, the first Adidas airport store, a multi-brand men’s denim store, and an outlet by Qatari fashion brand Kashkha.

QDF said that new dining options would include “grab-and-go eateries for those on the move, a range of dine-in outlets, and fine-dining concepts to satisfy customers’ appetite with more time to spare”.

The company said that the new outlets “will gradually open over the coming months”.

In addition the airport’s arrival duty free space will unveil a new look and feel, with a larger footprint and wider selection of products.

Commenting on the news Engr. Badr Mohammed Al Meer, chief operating Officer at HIA, said:

“The latest expansion of QDF’s retail portfolio is part of its joint effort with HIA to provide passengers with a diverse range of retail and culinary experiences.

“HIA’s expansive commercial space offers brands the opportunity to reach out to a truly global audience. We are always looking to diversify our offering to curate memorable retail experiences for all.”
