Hilton’s lifestyle Canopy brand is finally set to debut in the UK later this summer, with the opening of the Canopy by Hilton London City.
Business Traveller first reported on the property back in March 2016, and it had originally been scheduled to open in 2018, but several delays have pushed back the unveiling by some three years.
Located within the Minories development close to Aldgate Underground station, the hotel is now accepting reservations from September 1, and has appointed Beatriz Orta (formerly of the Holiday Inn London Camden Lock) as general manager.
The 340-room property features rooftop restaurant Florattica, Freedom Cafe, and destination restaurant Penny Squares. Other facilities include a fitness centre and Dunstans Den meeting space.
The Canopy by Hilton brand was launched in 2014, with the first mainland Europe hotel opening in Zagreb in November 2018.
There are currently 27 Canopy hotels open worldwide, with over 30 additional properties under development.
Recent openings include the Canopy Paris Trocadero, Canopy by Hilton San Antonio Riverwalk, and Canopy by Hilton Sao Paulo Jardins. Hilton also recently announced plans for its first Canopy property in the Seychelles.
