Radisson Hotel Group will open a new-build hotel under its Radisson Hotels brand at Beijing Daxing International airport.

The hotel is set to open in the first quarter of 2022 and will form part of an eco-friendly, mixed-use development within the Airport Economic Zone, 1.2km from the international terminal.

The development is set to receive the LEED Platinum Certificate upon completion and will include hotels, offices and retail spaces. It also plans to host athletes and attendees during the Beijing Winter Olympics in 2022.

The 239-room hotel will include rooms which average 32 sqm and suites up to 109 sqm, all of which will feature contemporary interiors, modern amenities and the Radisson brand’s “signature sleep experience”.

The hotel will also include six function spaces, including a boardroom, four meeting rooms and ballroom capable of accommodating 300 people. Plus a business centre and a VIP reception centre.

In terms of leisure faciltiies, it will have a gym, indoor pool and yoga room, along with retail boutiques. Dining venues will include all-day dining at a Chinese restaurant and the lobby lounge, in addition to the executive lounge.

Beijing Daxing airport opened in 2019 and is expected to handle 72 million passengers per year by 2025, and to even reach 100 million in the long term, serving major Chinese airlines and multiple international carriers.

Radisson has also confirmed that is looking to further expand in China with new openings in “key cities, provincial capitals, transport hubs, amusement parks, industrial zones and retail zones”.

Meanwhile, the group has expanded its presence in Turkey with the opening of a new hotel in Aliaga, and also plans to open its third property in Morocco in 2023.
