Last month we brought you news of Eurostar’s financial rescue.
At the time Eurostar was hoping to increase London-Paris services by the end of June.
I can now reveal that Eurostar has added its third London-Paris service to its website.
Readers who check the website today will see that there will be a third service (Monday to Saturday inclusive) effective June 28. Sunday remains twice daily.
Timings are as follows:
London St Pancras – Paris Nord
Depart at: 0801, 1231 and 1631
Arrive at: 1117, 1547 and 1947
Paris Nord – London St Pancras
Depart at: 0911, 1310 and 1711
Arrive at: 1039, 1439 and 1832
Having up to three services daily provides better travel options for those who need to travel this route.
At the time of writing Eurostar continues with its single daily service to Amsterdam via Brussels.
As we reported last year Eurostar will not be calling at its Kent stations (Ebbsfleet and Ashford) until 2022, which is a major inconvenience for readers residing near the Channel ports.
However Irish Ferries still intends to launch a Dover-Calais service in the near future as revealed by Port-BC on Twitter:
Arrivée ce midi de l'Isle of Inishmore au port de calais pour les 1ers essais de poste avant le démarrage du service commercial Calais /Douvres fin juin. Welcome to Irsih Ferries! #IRISHFERRIES #FERRY #CALAIS pic.twitter.com/GaCpwFY0kX

When we reported on this development the company hoped to carry foot passengers (subject to any restrictions being in place).
I must stress that everything is subject to change in these uncertain times so bear this in mind when checking schedules.
Details of medical and immigration requirements are posted on eurostar.com along with ticketing details.
