British Airways adds four routes from Belfast City

British Airways has announced plans to offer four additional domestic routes from Belfast City this summer, following the demise of Aer Lingus Regional franchise operator Stobart Air.

The carrier’s BA Cityflyer subsidiary will operate a total of 18 flights per from Belfast City to Exeter, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford and Newquay Cornwall airports over the coming months, adding to its existing services from the airport to London City and Heathrow.

Flights to Exeter and Leeds Bradford are already under way, having been taken over on a temporary basis following the cessation of Stobart Air services.

Cornwall Newquay will follow on July 3 (having been scheduled to launch as an Aer Lingus Regional route on June 28), and Glasgow on August 2 (having originally been due to launch on July 1).

Full schedules for each route – which will be operated by Embraer 190 aircraft – can be seen in the table below.

Katy Best, commercial director at Belfast City Airport, said that “Continuity on these services is excellent news for domestic connectivity to and from Northern Ireland”, while Tom Stoddart, managing director of BA CityFlyer, said:
