Delta is to expand its transatlantic services to France this summer, following the country’s decision to allow fully vaccinated travellers to enter without having to quarantine.
From July 7 the carrier will offer three flights per week from Minneapolis St Paul to Paris CDG, followed by a daily service from Boston starting August 5. The routes will join existing flights from Atlanta, New York JFK and Detroit to Paris.
In addition Delta will offer a three times weekly service from JFK to Nice commencing July 8.
The airline said that along with its “longstanding partner” and fellow Skyteam member Air France, the two carriers will offer “nine times more flights between the US and France in July than the next largest carriers”.
Air France is set to launch a new route between Paris CDG and the Colorado capital of Denver next month.
From June 9 fully vaccinated travellers may enter France without having to quarantine on arrival, providing they can provide proof of vaccination “with a vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency as well as present a negative Covid test upon arrival (less than 72 hours for a PCR test or less than 48 hours for an antigen test)”.
In a statement Delta said:
“As the European Union takes steps toward reopening borders, it is up to individual member countries to decide when and how to lift their restrictions. Delta will continue to expand service as travel returns and keep customers up to date on which international destinations are open to visitors.”
To that end the carrier has published a list of transatlantic routes which are either currently being operated, or will resume this summer (correct as of June 4), which can be seen below.
