LUX * Resorts and Hotels will launch the highly anticipated LUX* Grand Baie Resort & Residences in Mauritius on November 1, 2021.

Located in the north of Mauritius, the stunning hideaway will be nestled in the Grand Baie lagoon overlooking emerald-blue waters and white sandy beaches.

The design concept highlights “indoor-outdoor living and ‘purity’ by working in harmony with the natural surroundings.” The interiors capture the beauty of the land and the Indian Ocean with voluminous spaces symbolising a breath of fresh air.

There are 86 LUX* Junior Suites (65 sqm), 20 LUX* Pool Residences (two bedroom – 180 sqm) and two LUX* Pool Penthouses (three bedroom – 325 sqm), Seven LUX* Pool Villas (two-bedroom – 240 sqm), and one LUX* Grand Beach Pool Villa (three bedroom – 420 sqm).

Dining venues include Beach Rouge – LUX* Resorts & Hotels’ signature beach club concept that will serve fresh, locally sourced cuisine; Ai KISU for Asian cuisine created using warayaki straw fire cooking in an open kitchen. Its accompanying private club will host pop-up dinner parties and sets from international DJs and local musicians alike.

European-inspired Maison LUX* will brew fresh, organic own-blend coffee and serve a curated selection of French, Italian and Spanish pastries, and homemade gelato. A key highlight is the expansive rooftop bar and restaurant Bisou offering panoramic views of the surrounding Indian Ocean.

Recreational amenities include LUX* ME Spa & Fitness, and special programmes for young guests.

Paul Jones, chief executive officer of The Lux Collective said:

“The vision for LUX* Grand Baie has been in my mind for some time, and I have been determined to bring all my years of experience in resorts around the world to a crescendo in this magnificent property.

“Grand Baie is the crown jewel of Mauritius and the mandate from the outset was simple: create the finest luxury resort in the Indian Ocean. In the process, it has become the flagship for LUX* Resorts & Hotels and our first greenfield project in Mauritius. The essentials had to be perfect – comfort, warm, welcoming, and inviting. Exciting, creative, and full of LUX* soul. That ‘soul’ comes from our people, who in Mauritius are magical.”
