Design-oriented hotel brand The Hoxton is set to open five additional properties in Europe over the course of 2022 and 2023.

The hotel brand will open hotels in Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels, London’s Shepherd’s Bush and Vienna, following the opening of its tenth hotel in Rome this month (pictured). Ennismore Design Studio will oversee the design process of each property.

The brand’s coworking brand Working From, which already exists in London’s Southwark and Chicago, will also open its first mainland Europe location in Brussels.

The Hoxton Barcelona will open in spring 2022 in the Poblenou neighbourhood and comprise 240 rooms, a ground floor restaurant, bar and terrace, a rooftop taqueria and pool, and events space. The property will debut the brand’s new ‘Homey’ room category, where rooms have a lounge space and kitchenette, which is aimed at the longer stay market. The Poblenou area is home to a thriving tech and design scene, and just 20 minutes from the Sagrada Familia and beach.

In summer 2022, the brand will open a property in Charlottenburg in West Berlin, transforming a former hotel into a new 239-room hotel which features an open lobby, bar and restaurant, and meeting and events space.

The Hoxton Brussels will also open in summer 2022 in a brutalist-style tower building and the former European headquarters of IBM, located north of the city centre close to the Northern Business District. This property will feature 198 seventies-inspired rooms, a double height lobby, bar and restaurant, a rooftop bar and terrace, meeting and events space, and five floors of Working From with open desks, studios, breakout spaces and communal pantries on each floor.

The Hoxton will open its fourth London property on Shepherd’s Bush Green in winter 2022, featuring 237 rooms including the new ‘Hideout’ category, a central bar and open lobby with “laidback and eclectic vintage seating”, a retro pastel restaurant, terrace and courtyard, a retail space, and meeting and events space. The hotel will also celebrate local art and design through collaborations.

Finally, the brand will open a hotel in Vienna in spring 2023, located in Stadtpark in a 1950s modernist building which was once the headquarters of Austria’s Chamber of Commerce. The design will pay homage to its history, with restoration of original features of the building. The 196-room hotel will also feature a spacious lobby and coffee bar, a restaurant and terrace, a rooftop bar and pool, a basement speakeasy, and meeting and events space. The brand will also debut its first events auditorium at this property, which will host live entertainment in Vienna.

The brand currently has ten hotels in Europe and North America, with locations in London (Shoreditch, Holborn and Southwark), Paris, Amsterdam, Rome, New York, Portland, Chicago and Los Angeles.

The hotels now have a flexible check-in/check-out policy which allows guests who book 72 hours in advance to select any arrival and departure time.
