IHG Hotels and Resorts has opened its first Holiday Inn property in Armenia, located just off Republic Square in the country’s capital Yerevan.

The 191-room hotel is housed within two historical buildings – a former 19th century gymnasium, and a library named after a famous Armenian poet, Avetik Isahakyan – and features Holiday Inn’s signature Open Lobby concept combining the reception, restaurant, bar and lounge areas.

Other facilities include seven meeting rooms, and spa and fitness centre Cloud 7, with treatment rooms, 25-metre indoor pool, spa bath, sauna, hammam and salt room.

Holiday Inn Yerevan – Republic Square joins the existing Holiday Inn Express Yerevan, which overlooks the city’s Mashtots Park.

Other internationally-branded hotels in the Armenian capital include Ibis Yerevan Center Hotel, Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Yerevan City Centre, Hyatt Place Yerevan, Armenia Marriott Hotel Yerevan, and Radisson Blu Hotel Yerevan.

Marriott also operates a Luxury Collection property in the city – for a review of The Alexander, see:
