Over the months we have brought you many reports about Jetblue’s plans for its transatlantic operation.

Today we can reveal details of Jetblue’s London-New York flights along with the fares it will be charging.

Jetblue says the London Heathrow to New York JFK daily service will commence on August 12, with a daily service from Gatwick following on September 30. Another service to Boston is planned for summer 2022.

All flights will be operated by long-range A321 neo aircraft. These will be configured with 117 Core (economy) seats plus 24 redesigned Mint (business class) seats. Introductory return fares are £329 for Core and £999 for Mint.

At Heathrow Jetblue will be using Terminal 2. At Gatwick the airline will use the North Terminal. Schedules between London Heathrow and New York JFK are as follows:

  • B6020  London Heathrow-New York 1810-2143
  • B6007  New York-London Heathrow 2210-1010 (next day)

For London Gatwick to New York JFK they are:

  • B644 London Gatwick-New York 1200-1533
  • B645 New York-London Gatwick 1950-0755 (next day)

Robin Hayes, chief executive officer at Jetblue, commented:

“The pandemic has opened doors to London’s two busiest airports, and we look forward to bringing customers low fares and great service at both Heathrow and Gatwick.

“JFK-LHR, the single largest international air travel market from the US, has long suffered from outrageously high fares for far too long, especially in premium cabins. We’re ready to change that with a price point and experience that will impress even the most discerning transatlantic flyers.

“We’ve always said that JetBlue would serve multiple London airports, and we’re pleased to have secured a path at Heathrow and for long-term growth at Gatwick, which offers speed, low costs, and convenient accessibility into Central London.”

I would suggest readers check fares on Jetblue’s website. Its fares are tiered depending on booking dates, travel dates and so on. In addition Jetblue has ancillary fees and details are displayed on the booking pages.
