Easyjet has launched an online tool to help customers navigate travel requirements amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Covid-19 Travel Hub on the airline’s website features a live travel map showing the latest restrictions for travel to and from the 35 countries on Easyjet’s European network.
Powered by travel technology provider Smartvel, the interactive map provides the following:
- Entry restrictions
- Quarantine measures
- Covid-19 test information
- Information specific to vaccinated passengers
- Testing labs in origin and destination countries
- Forms and applications required for travel
- Health insurance
- Local health information
- Connecting flights information
The airline has also created a new ‘Traffic Light System’ page for UK-based travellers, providing information on green, amber and red list requirements so that customers can plan a trip this summer. The page will be updated when the UK government reviews the list (which is every three weeks).
Easyjet recently published researched showing that “much of Europe should be declared Green by UK Government when travel restarts”.
Sophie Dekkers, Chief Commercial Officer of Easyjet, commented:
“We want to help our customers navigate through the various travel requirements and restrictions so they can feel confident about making their booking this summer. Our new Covid-19 Travel Hub will really help to equip them with the resources and tools they need to plan their next trip and take to the skies. From creating our interactive travel map and Covid-19 Travel Hub to adding new testing resources that streamline the experience, we are focused on making it as easy as possible for our customers this summer.”
“We are committed to a safe restart and are confident this can happen while protecting the vaccination programme and NHS. We also expect the number of countries on the Green list to grow next month to enable safe travel to many of our popular European summer destinations, and we have flexible policies so customers can book with confidence and change their plans if they need to.”
The airline recently partnered with insurance provider Collinson to offer a new product which includes Covid-19 cover, and updated its Protection Promise ahead of the resumption of international flights this month.
Airline alliance groups Oneworld and Skyteam recently enhanced their Covid-19 information portals, while London City airport launched a new passenger travel portal last week.
