Accor has opened its first Novotel property in Cambridge, located close to Cambridge North rail station and the city’s business and science parks.

The new-build Novotel Cambridge North features 217 rooms with 55-inch TVs, “super-fast wifi” and rain showers, with other facilities including a restaurant and bar, gym, indoor pool, spa bath, and five meeting rooms accommodating between ten and 150 people.

The hotel joins the existing Ibis Cambridge Central Station Hotel, located on Station Square close to the city’s main rail station.

Commenting on the news Martijn van der Graaf, head of portfolio management UK and Benelux Accorinvest said:

“We are delighted with the opening of this stunning hotel which also marks the re-opening of our hotels throughout the UK for all guests. AccorInvest has been working closely together with the developer Brookgate on the delivery of this hotel.

“This development is completely in line with our strategy as owner, operator and investor in eco and midscale properties in key cities within Europe. This hotel will be managed by Accor under their Novotel brand.”.

Novotel Cambridge North  is one of a number of hotels set to open in the city this year, with the Graduate Cambridge (a renovation and rebranding of the former Doubletree by Hilton Cambridge City Centre) scheduled to be unveiled this summer, and the Hyatt Centric Cambridge slated to open this autumn within the University of Cambridge’s Eddington development.
