The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has lifted the travel ban on citizens travelling from abroad.
The authority has also lifted the quarantine rule for fully vaccinated travellers. Earlier, the circular from the authority stated “all foreign citizens arriving in the Kingdom to quarantine for a week in a government-approved accommodation starting May 20.”
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has resumed international flight operations from today. Announcing the new measures, the GACA said that the exempted groups who have received full doses of one of the vaccines approved by the Ministry of Health can enter the Kingdom without the need for a quarantine period. It is mandatory to provide an official vaccination certificate before and upon their arrival.
The new measures will be effective from May 20.
The GACA has asked air carriers to team up with shelters and accommodation facilities approved by the Ministry of Tourism to accommodate travellers who are not Saudi citizens and excluded groups who meet the conditions of institutional quarantine for a period of seven days, provided that a swab is done on the sixth day and the result is negative.
