Hilton opens Canopy property in Paris

12 May 2021 by Hannah Brandler

Hilton has opened its first Canopy property in France, located in Paris’ Trocadero district.

Canopy Paris Trocadero is located in the 16th arrondissement, with design that draws inspiration from the history of the area and incorporates “thoughtful touches” from the industrial past of the 1930s building. The hotel is located a ten-minute walk from attractions such as the Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Elysées, and steps from the Trocadero metro station.

The hotel features 123 rooms with signature Canopy beds featuring gel memory foam and Serta Cool Balance technology, 55-inch TVs, complimentary wifi, Apivita bath amenities and in-room Nespresso coffee machines. Further facilities include a 24-hour gym with Technogym equipment, complimentary bikes to tour the neighbourhood, and flexible meeting and event space.

The hotel serves breakfast at the Canopy Central restaurant, classic French dishes at l’Esprit Nouveau, and cocktails and sharing platters at the rooftop bar amid views of the Eiffel Tower. Canopy Paris Trocadero also organises daily tastings with appetisers and beverages from local distilleries, craft brewers and wineries, and guests are gifted a welcome treat from the local area upon check-in.

The group will also open two hotels under its Tapestry by Hilton brand in the capital this summer, with properties Le Belgrand Hotel Paris Champs Elysées and Hotel Camille Paris Gare de Lyon.

Simon Vincent, executive vice president, EMEA, commented:

“We’re thrilled to be opening three new hotels in Paris this spring. In doing so, we are extending Hilton’s hospitality across the French capital whilst preparing to add 25 hotels to our portfolio in France in the next three to five years.

“Canopy Paris Trocadero is an exceptional hotel, overlooking the Parisian skyline with views of the Eiffel Tower, and is set to be a favourite for our Hilton Honors members around the world. As international travel picks up, we’re excited to welcome guests at our newest additions in Paris.”

Phil Cordell, global head, Canopy by Hilton, added:

“Canopy celebrates the very best of the local neighborhood, and this hotel is no exception with interior design that draws inspiration from Trocadero’s rich history and thoughtfully local touches that help guests make the most of their stay in Paris. As people begin to travel again, we look forward to sharing the Canopy experience with our guests and neighbors in this iconic destination.”

The Canopy brand was launched in 2014, and there are currently 28 properties open around the world, with over 30 under development across 16 countries and territories. The Paris opening will be followed by new Canopy hotels in London and Madrid later this year.

Hilton recently debuted the brand in South America, with the opening of a property in Sao Paulo, and also opened its first Canopy hotel in the US city of San Antonio last month.
