The hotly anticipated Business Traveller Middle East Awards 2021 will take place virtually for the second year running due to ongoing regional and international travel restrictions, organiser Motivate Media Group has announced.

The decision to host the ceremony online prioritises the safety of award winners, partners and readers, with the event scheduled to go live at 3pm (GST) on May 25, 2021.

Now in its 19th year, the BTME awards are bigger and better than ever, with several new awards categories added.

Voting, now closed, has seen readers come out in force to select their favourite travel industry suppliers across some 33 categories spanning 10 airline awards, four airport awards, and 19 hotel awards.

Making its debut in 2021 following the normalisation of relations between the UAE and Israel, is the ‘Best Business Hotel in Tel Aviv’ category.

The Business Traveller Middle East Awards 2021 celebrate the companies at the forefront of business travel and services, as well as the hard work of top-level industry executives.

Each year, the coveted gala awards ceremony attracts a high-profile crowd comprising industry heavyweights, High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs), C-Suite executives and key decision makers spanning the hotel, aviation, tourism and transportation sectors.

The 2021 event follows hot off the heels of the award programme’s highly successful 2020 edition, which showcased the new virtual format at the end of last year.

Headline winners at the online event included Dubai International Airport, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Four Seasons Hotel Dubai International Financial Centre, Hilton Riyadh Hotel & Residences, InterContinental, Marriott Bonvoy, Qatar Airways, Rotana, and Singapore Airlines, to name a few.

More details on how to attend the BTME Awards 2021 will be announced soon.
