Luxury serviced apartment brand Cheval Collection is to unveil an extension to its Old Town Chambers property in Edinburgh this summer.

The expanded facilities will see the addition of 25 apartments to the 50 already in operation, as well as a new reception area and guest lounge.

New restaurant Luckenbooths (named to reflect a row of historic commercial buildings that once existed adjacent to the building) will also open with the property, managed by Edinburgh-based group Bon Vivant.

Cheval Old Town Chambers is located on the Royal Mile, and is one of three Cheval properties in Edinburgh, including Cheval The Edinburgh Grand (which joined the group alongside Old Town Chamber last year), and Cheval Abbey Strand Apartments at Holyrood which also opened in 2020.

Commenting on the news John Phillipson, chief operating officer of Cheval Collection, said:

“We are thrilled to announce this additional extension as part of our longer-term vision to grow our offering in the UK. Cheval Old Town Chambers can now be directly accessed from the Royal Mile and will benefit from a more prominent position. We hope to appeal to domestic and international guests looking for fully serviced apartments as an alternative to traditional hotel accommodation.”

Cheval also recently opened its ninth London property, located a ten-minute walk from Gloucester Road station.
