Yotel will open its fifth UK property and the 17th in the group’s portfolio next month, with the unveiling of the Yotel Glasgow.
Located on Argyle Street opposite Glasgow’s Central Station, the 257-cabin hotel will open on May 12.
The converted property will offer a mix of Premium Queen, Triple, First Class and VIP suite categories, with features including the brand’s signature Smart Bed with gel cooled mattresses, rain showers, smart TVs and free wifi.
The hotel has a 24-hour gym, and from June will also be home to the Vega bar, bowling alley and events venue, which will offer four bowling lanes and space for up to 282 guests. The venue can also be used for co-working and casual meetings during the day.
Yotel Glasgow will also see the rollout of the group’s latest contactless technologies, with a new app featuring a downloadable Smart Key “for low-touch cabin entry”. Rates start from £49 per night.
The hotel marks the second property under the brand in Scotland, joining Yotel Edinburgh which opened on Queen Street in 2019, and which was at the time the group’s first European city centre property.
Last year Yotel also opened a 212-room hotel in London’s Clerkenwell, and has plans to increase its portfolio to 60 properties either operating or under development by 2023.
Commenting on the Glasgow opening Hubert Viriot, Yotel’s CEO, said:
“We remain optimistic about the future of travel, particularly for the Yotel brand, as we focus on our ‘everything you need and nothing you don’t’ approach which matches the needs of travellers in the current environment.
“As our third office conversion, Glasgow is another example of our flexibility in design which we believe will become more important as we look towards the future and continue our focus on conversions of offices, retail and existing hotels. “
