Easyjet has added a third route to Cornwall Airport Newquay his summer.
In February the low-cost carrier announced plans to serve the Cornish airport from Glasgow and Manchester, and the airline has confirmed it will also fly to and from Gatwick airport between June 8 and October 30.
The thrice weekly route will operate on Tuesdays, Thursday and Saturdays over the peak summer season.
There are currently no other services between Gatwick and Newquay – British Airways is scheduled to resume its Heathrow-Newquay route from late June.
A record number of carriers are set to fly to and from Cornwall Airport Newquay this summer, including Blue Islands, BA, Eastern Airways, Easyjet, Edelweiss Air, Loganair and Ryanair.
Stobart Air also recently announced plans to operate Aer Lingus Regional flights between Belfast and Newquay from June 28.
Commenting on the new Easyjet route, Cornwall Airport Newquay’s MD Pete Downes said:
“We’re delighted to see London Gatwick added to the growing network of Easyjet routes at Cornwall Airport Newquay this summer. I am certain that this new route will be especially welcomed by Cornish residents who have long told us they want to see more great value flights to London.
“It will also provide a fast and convenient travel option for those in London and the south east dreaming of a domestic break in Cornwall this summer.”
