Hilton has opened its first Canopy hotel in the US city of San Antonio, and the fourth in the state of Texas.
The 195-room hotel is located on the city’s Riverwalk, and features architecture which integrates the Civil War-era Alamo Fish Market building.
Rooms showcase artwork and textiles reflecting the city, with “an intricate black-and-white shower tile pattern in the bathroom [which] represents the classic San Antonio quatrefoil logo, which honours the four specific city pillars: People, Pride, Passion and Promise”.
Domingo Restaurant offers “the flavours of South Texas”, with a menu including Mexican shrimp cocktail and halibut ceviche, ribeye a la plancha, and a Mexican hamburguesa made from wagyu beef.
Meanwhile Otro Bar features an open-air terrace with views of the Riverwalk, and offers cocktail, small bites and tacos.
Other facilities include a fitness centre, and 2,300 square feet of meeting space with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out onto the Riverwalk.
Canopy by Hilton San Antonio Riverwalk joins three other Canopy properties in Texas – Canopy by Hilton Dallas Frisco, Canopy by Hilton Dallas Uptown and Canopy by Hilton Austin Downtown.
Hilton recently debuted the brand in South America, with the opening of the 98-room Canopy by Hilton Sao Paulo Jardins.
Commenting on the news Phil Cordell, global category head, lifestyle and global brand head, Canopy by Hilton, said:
“I can’t think of a better city in which to grow Canopy’s footprint in Texas. San Antonio increasingly becomes a must-visit destination for its rich history, architecture, award-winning restaurants and eclectic culture.
“We look forward to offering guests a truly positive stay at Canopy by Hilton San Antonio Riverwalk as we continue to expand Hilton’s lifestyle portfolio and open new properties in sought-after locations around the world.”
