Hyatt has added the first property under its JDV brand (formerly known as Joie de Vivre) in Canada, located in downtown Toronto.
The Anndore House, a JDV by Hyatt hotel is housed within a ten floor former residential building, and features 115 rooms, “lively artwork throughout”, and two food and beverage outlets including Mediterranean restaurant Constantine.
The boutique hotel also has an in-house Crows Nest Barbershop, with a café set to open under the Crows Nest brand this year.

Meanwhile the 92-room Walper Hotel in the Kitchener district of Ontario will join the JDV brand later this year following “enhancements” to the property.
Hyatt added JDV to its portfolio when it acquired Two Roads Hospitality in 2018, and the brand currently counts 14 properties across the US and China, with three hotels also set to be added in Sweden this year.
To celebrate the additions, and the recent opening of the 1,000th Hyatt hotel worldwide, World of Hyatt members can earn 1,000 bonus points per qualifying night when staying at the group’s new properties between April 1 and June 30, 2021.
Commenting on the news Scott Richer, regional vice president of real estate and development, Hyatt, said:
“We are thrilled to introduce the JDV by Hyatt brand to Canada and expand our brand footprint in the Americas through two new hotels with The Anndore House and The Walper Hotel.
“The JDV by Hyatt brand offers our spirited guests a collection of vibrant, independent hotels and a socially inclusive stay through joy-driven service and eclectic, locally inspired experiences.”
