Starting from June, Japan Airlines will operate one flight per week between Tokyo Narita and Bengaluru, under the air bubble agreement between India and Japan.

DEL –HND and BLR – NRT flights

Booking RBD / Class – Book B class and above for Economy and C class and above for Business will be open.

Categories of passengers eligible to fly:

  • Stranded Japanese passengers and their dependents.
  • All non-Japanese passengers holding Japan PR and dependents will also be permitted on these flights irrespective of their nationalities. Japan Airlines shall accept the booking for Indian nationals falling in this category.

All passengers need to obtain a negative Covid-19 test report with swab collection within 72 hours of departure. Fresh visas are issued by Japan Embassy under special circumstances.

In addition to the negative report, passengers also need to carry the certificate of testing of Covid-19. The certificate must be properly filled, stamped, and signed by authorised doctor. All passengers need to fill in the necessary information on the questionnaire web in advance at the departure airport and show the QR code issued to you on the website to a quarantine officer at the arrival airport.

HND – DEL and NRT – BLR Flights

Booking RBD / Class – Book K class and above for Economy and D class and above for Business will be open.

Both Indian and Japanese airlines while operating inbound flights into India can carry the following passengers:

  • Stranded Indian nationals,
  • All Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders holding passports of Japan, and foreigners (including diplomats) holding valid visas issued by an Indian Mission in any category covered under Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines, as amended from time to time.

There is a mandatory requirement of travel-related information/ self-declaration/ related documentation by the passenger itself. Passengers must visit the self-declaration form.

A mandatory negative RT PCR report with the test conducted within 72 hours prior to the departure from TYO is required.

“In case any passenger is been observed/deemed not fit to travel due to medical/or any other reason pertaining to health issues/ competent regulatory health protocol not adhered and that may be observed/assumed as to possibly impact the fellow passenger health during an ongoing pandemic, may be denied boarding at the sole discretion of Japan Airlines. Hence  Japan Airlines reserve the right of boarding subject to physical health evaluation,” the airline stated in an official release.
