Radisson Hotel Group has announced that it will open a Radisson Red property at London Gatwick airport.

This will be the second Radisson Red property to open at a UK airport, following the launch of Radisson Red Hotel London Heathrow in September of last year.

Radisson Red London Gatwick Airport is set to open in the third quarter of 2021, and will be located a few minutes’ drive from the airport terminals and with rapid connections to the city.

The hotel will feature 185 contemporary rooms, featuring the brand’s signature colour scheme, large paintings and wooden floors, along with a bistro-style restaurant and bar, a fitness room and social meeting spaces.

Adela Cristea, Vice President, Head of Business Development UK and Ireland at Radisson Hotel Group, said:

“We are very excited to strengthen our presence in the region with another Radisson RED property, bringing our UK & Ireland portfolio to 65 hotels and 15,000 rooms open and under development. We are grateful for the ongoing collaboration with Axcel Group, and we are very much looking forward to welcoming guests to this fun, upscale hotel at one of the most important airports in the UK.”

Sam Patel, Managing Director in Axcel Group Limited, added:

“We are delighted to continue our solid partnership with Radisson Hotel Group and successfully launch this upscale urban hotel at Gatwick Airport. Radisson Hotel Group is the leading international hotel group in the region and this project is a proof of our joint long-term commitment to the UK and its travellers.”

The Radisson Red brand launched in Brussels in 2016, with subsequent locations including Glasgow, Campinas (Sao Paulo), Cape Town, Minneapolis and Denmark. The brand is set to open a property in Newcastle, as well as its first German property in Cologne in 2023.
