Marriott International has announced that its three Collection brands – Autograph Collection, Tribute Portfolio and Luxury Collection – are expected to expand into nearly 70 new locations this year.
The Collection brands form part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of independent hotel brands, which are designed to offer “unique stories inspired by their destination” all the while providing the owners with benefits of the Marriott system. The global expansion will include 24 new markets.
Recent research by Tripadvisor on consumer behaviours has shown that travellers are more interested in individualised and experiential stays, while social media analysis conducted by Marriott saw a significant uptick in searches such as “storytelling” and “design”.
Tina Edmundson, Global Brand and Marketing Officer at Marriott International, commented:
“We know guests are seeking to immerse themselves in the richness of the locale, to discover what defines the destination, and to experience one-of-a-kind hotels.
“This has become increasingly important over the past year, as those who are waiting to travel are counting down the days until they make memories on the road again. Our Collection brands provide travelers with these truly authentic experiences, enveloped in the convenience and amazing benefits of being part of the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio. With new travel opportunities on the horizon, we look forward to welcoming guests to our distinctive properties in key cities and resort destinations around the world.”
