In recent weeks we have brought you details of the new buy-on-board services being introduced by Lufthansa Group airlines.
First it was Lufthansa, and then Swiss, and today it’s the turn of Austrian Airlines.
The Vienna-based carrier will introduce what it is calling the ‘Austrian Melangerie’ offering from March 18.
It will be offered to economy class passengers on flights lasting up to three hours.

As in the case of Swiss we see Austrian Airlines focusing on quality and regional specialities.
These range from croissant and Viennese coffee to crispy Wiener Schnitzel to apple strudel.
Full details can be found on a dedicated section of the carrier’s website here.

Austrian Airlines readers across Europe will find it provides many short-haul connections via Vienna plus a limited range of long-haul services.
Many of the short-haul destinations are those in former Eastern Bloc countries which would normally be difficult to reach.
However during the pandemic the network is reduced in scope because of travel restrictions and so on.
