Malaysia Airlines has joined a number of airlines seeking to increase ancillary revenue by enabling customers to purchase its inflight amenities.
The carrier said that “Exclusive signature items such as pyjamas sets, amenity kits and duvets, that were only available to its premium passengers on board are now available for sale with the convenience of delivery right to customers’ doorstep”.
Items for sale include Malaysia Airlines’ Business Suite amenity kits for RM99 (£17.50). The kit features a bag by luxury leather good brand Aspinal of London, containing travel essentials including Payot lip balm and hand and body lotion.
The carrier’s business class cotton and polyester blend duvet is being sold for RM110 (£19.50), while a limited edition Business Suite pyjama set can be yours for RM119 (£21), and comes with a zip-up top, trousers, eye mask, socks and slippers.
The items are being sold via the airline’s Temptations e-retail store, and are available for delivery “to all corners around the world”.
British Airways also recently sold off surplus inflight crockery, glassware and blankets, as well as trolleys from retired B747 aircraft, in an attempt to raise much needed funds.
Commenting on the initiative group chief marketing and customer experience officer of Malaysia Airlines Berhad, Lau Yin May, said:
“We are delighted to offer our exclusive Malaysia Airlines’ Business Suite and Business Class merchandises online in the pursuit of bringing the Malaysian Hospitality experience closer to our customers.
