Accor has announced plans to debut its lifestyle Hyde brand in Mexico, with a hotel and branded residences in the coastal town of Mazatlan.
The waterfront property is slated to open in late 2023, and will offer 150 rooms and 50 premium residences, as well as 300 feet of private beach access.
Features will include a swimming pool overlooking the sea, five dining outlets, spa and fitness facilities, and meeting and events space.
Mazatlan is situated on the western Pacific coast of Mexico, in line with the southernmost tip of the Baja California Peninsula. The resort town is served by Mazatlan International airport, with connections to Mexico City and North American destinations including Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles and Vancouver.
The Hyde brand originated as an LA nightclub in 2005, and currently counts two hotels in Hollywood Beach and Midtown Miami in its portfolio.
The brand forms part of Accor’s global lifestyle hotel partnership with UK-based developer Ennismore, which was announced in late 2020.
Commenting on the news Chadi Farhat, chief operating officer of (Accor owned) SBE said:
“We are delighted to continue our international growth across our hotel brands in collaboration with Accor.
“We are thrilled to be working with [owner] Daniel Cárdenas Family and we want to thank State Governor Quirino Ordaz Coppel, Economic Development Secretary Javier Lizárraga Mercado, Tourism Secretary Oscar Pérez Barros and Mayor Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres for the support they have shown for the arrival of Hyde to Mazatlán.
“Mazatlán is the ideal destination for Hyde as it has grown into one of México’s leading travel destinations boasting a vibrant art scene and spirited culture.”
