Hilton is set to open its first Hilton Hotels and Resorts property in Albania in 2023, located in the country’s capital Tirana.

The property is owned by Kastrati Residences Ltd, a subsidiary of Kastrati Group, and will comprise 156 rooms and 18 suites. Further facilities will include an executive lounge, extensive meetings and events space, a spacious spa, and indoor pool and fitness centre. The hotel’s rooftop also boasts a pool and lounge with views of the Skanderberg Mountains and parkland.

The hotel will be located in Italia Square, a short walk from the city’s top tourist attractions, including the Et’hem Bey Mosque and Skanderbeg Monument, and ideally situated close to government buildings and the financial centre. Tirana train station and Tirana International airport will also be located a 30-minute drive from the hotel.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, Senior Vice President, Development, EMEA at Hilton said:

“Having opened our first hotel in Albania in 2018, we’re extending our portfolio with the introduction of Hilton Tirana. Partnering with exceptional owners like Kastrati Group has led to enormous momentum across Europe, with nearly 450 hotels trading and a pipeline of 220 properties in development. Tirana is undergoing a transformation into a thriving metropolis, and we see great potential in this rapidly developing city. Albania saw visitor numbers increase by more than 70 per cent between 2014 and 2019.”

Shefqet Kastrati, President of Kastrati Group, added:

“We look forward to working with Hilton to bring its prestigious flagship brand to Albania for the first time. Tirana continues to attract growing numbers of visitors as it progresses in its ambition to become a “kaleidoscope metropolis”, and we look forward to working with Hilton on our inaugural project together.”

Hilton Tirana will join a portfolio of over 575 hotels and resorts worldwide, and follows the opening of Hilton Garden Inn Tirana in 2018.
