Hyatt plans to expand its luxury lifestyle brand Alila in the US with the opening of Alila Napa Valley in California in March 2021.

Formerly Las Alcobas, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Napa Valley, the adults-only hotel is surrounded by the vineyards of the Beringer Estate in the city of St Helena. The hotel features design by Yabu Pushelberg, with natural materials and a neutral colour palette designed to complement the “unobstructed vineyard and mountain views that face west for idyllic sunsets.”

The 68-room hotel includes seven suites, and all accommodations include automation controls, marble bathrooms, custom-designed furniture and oversized balconies or wrap-around terraces with fireplaces.

The property is built around a Georgian-style guesthouse originally constructed in 1907 which now houses restaurant and bar Acacia House and seven guest rooms. The hotel will also feature a newly rebranded spa located within a contemporary farmhouse, which will offer treatments “reflective of its wine country location” and wellness offerings such as complimentary bikes and “mindful wine tastings”.  There is also a 24-hour fitness centre and an outdoor pool overlooking adjacent vineyards and mountains.

Alila Napa Valley is walking distance from the shops and restaurants in downtown St Helena and has access to more than 400 nearby wineries. The hotel also has over 500 sqm of meetings and events space.

The hotel will join Hyatt’s portfolio on March 1 and reservations are open for stays from March 15. Alila Napa Valley will join Ventana Big Sur, an Alila Resort, and Alila Marea Beach Resort Encinitas – the latter is expected to open in March too.

Crystal Vinisse Thomas, Hyatt global brand leader, lifestyle and luxury brands, commented:

“Growing the Alila brand remains a priority for Hyatt and we’re so thrilled to offer guests and World of Hyatt members new, immersive experiences set in the remarkable beauty of California’s exceptional Napa Valley wine country.

“As the third Alila destination in California, Alila Napa Valley is poised to provide a personalized approach that will help discerning guests discover what makes the Napa Valley region so special. As a leader in crafted luxury, responsible tourism and transformative experiences, the Alila brand will deliver a refreshing guest experience that is all its own, while embodying a brand ethos that feels right at home in California.”

The Alila brand has 14 properties across six countries and joined Hyatt Hotels’ loyalty programme World of Hyatt in 2019. Hyatt acquired the brand in November 2018 when it purchased lifestyle hotel management company Two Roads Hospitality.
