Marriott International has opened its first dual-branded property in the UK, located in the Berkshire town of Slough.
As previously reported back in 2017, the development on the site of the town’s former library offers the choice of a 152-room Moxy hotel and 92-suite Residence Inn property – the first extended stay hotel in Slough.
Moxy Slough features décor inspired by the town’s connections to The Thunderbirds, with “subtle pop-art wall graphics and signage celebrating the Gerry and Sylvia Anderson puppet show and local heritage”.

The properties have their own entrances and receptions, but share facilities including a gym, a ninth floor terrace, six meeting rooms and four larger interconnecting event spaces, the ground floor Moxy Bar, and the Residence Inn Bar and Lounge.
The development is owned by Slough Borough Council and also features 64 apartments and 4,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space.
It is operated by Cycas Hospitality, which opened Marriott’s first dual-branded Moxy and Residence Inn property in Amsterdam in 2018. For a review of the Residence Inn Amsterdam Houthavens, see:

Commenting on the Slough opening Wayne Androliakos, Cycas Hospitality’s chief operating officer, said:
“This is a landmark development for the town as well as all the partners involved, and we’re delighted to have been instrumental in bringing two well-known accommodation brands to the area.
“With our experience of developing double-decker hotels, we understand the benefits a ‘two-in-one’ approach can deliver to travellers and travel bookers. With the former library site now transformed into a vibrant destination, we are confident that the addition of two high-profile hotel brands will help boost Slough’s profile and add renewed life to the town centre.”
