Marriott has unveiled its line-up of property openings in the Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region for 2021.

They include launches in Egypt, Jordan, Dubai and Saudi Arabia with a presence from multiple predominantly luxury brands.

The group has already kick-started its 2021 portfolio expansion campaign with the launch of St. Regis Cairo, which opened earlier this month featuring 286 lavishly appointed rooms and suites and 80 luxurious apartments.

Following in its footsteps, a second property under the luxury brand, the St. Regis Almasa, will open in Egypt’s administrative capital by the end of Q1 and will be home to the city’s largest continuous ballroom space.

Later in the year, in Q4, the iconic JW Marriott Cairo Mena House will open to guests with 117 rooms and suites, all within walking distance of the Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx and the Egyptian Grand Museum.

Dubai is another expansion focal point for Marriott, with the UAE’s first Residence Inn by Marriott opening its doors in the Al Jaddaf area in Q2. Pitched as “perfect for those looking to work from anywhere in 2021”, the extended-stay property will offer 134 rooms with separate living, working and sleeping areas.

In Q3, Marriott will open its first Dubai resort. Marriott Resort Palm Jumeirah will feature 608 guestrooms, eight restaurants and lounges, plus a world-class spa and fitness facility, kids’ club and a private sandy beach.

It will be joined the same quarter by St. Regis Dubai, The Palm, with 289 rooms and suites, an infinity pool on the 50th floor, a rooftop viewing deck and a direct connection to Nakheel Mall. The St. Regis Beach Club, an extension of the hotel, will feature an infinity pool along with a state-of-the-art gym and fitness centre.

The Ritz-Carlton brand will debut in Jordan in Q3, stamping out its presence across two stunning towers. Key features of The Ritz-Carlton, Amman (pictured) will include 228 guestrooms, including 34 suites and 90 residences, plus a rooftop restaurant, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a fitness centre and spa and a 1,000 sqm ballroom.

In Saudi Arabia, the JW Marriott Burj Rafal, Riyadh, will open on King Fahad Road as the tallest residential building in the city in Q3. A short drive from King Abdullah Financial district, the landmark hotel will span 70 floors, with 349 rooms and suites.

Outside of the region, new Marriott hotels opening in Europe this year include Moxy Manchester and The Westin London City in the UK; Moxy Lisbon City and W Algarve in Portugal; Matild Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Budapest in Hungary; Hotel Riomar, Ibiza, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel in Spain; the W Rome in Italy; and The Marmorosch Bucharest, Autograph Collection Hotel in Romania.
